What is Ram Navami?
Ram Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Vishnu, to King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya in Ayodhya. According to the Ramayana tradition, Rama was born at midday on Chaitra Shukla Navami, which is why the main celebration is held during the Madhyahna period. It is also the culmination of Chaitra Navratri.
How Ram Navami is celebrated
